How Aivio News handles factual errors: how to report one, how corrections are marked, and what happens across all nine language editions.

Aivio News corrects factual errors as soon as they are established, in every language edition where the error appeared. We do not quietly delete or rewrite a published article to make a mistake disappear.
How to report an error
Use the contact page and include the article’s address, the specific statement you believe is wrong, and — where possible — a source. Reports are reviewed by Love Lindberg. You do not need to be the subject of an article to report an error in it.
How corrections are made
When a factual error is confirmed, the article is corrected and a dated correction notice is added to it, stating what was wrong and what it now says. The notice stays on the article permanently.
The article’s modification date is updated when, and only when, the text actually changes. Aivio News does not refresh publication dates to make old articles look new.
Where an error appeared in several language editions, all of them are corrected and each carries the notice in its own language.
Scale of change
Typographical fixes and broken links are repaired without a notice, because nothing a reader relied on has changed. Any change to a fact, a figure, a name, a date, a quotation or a characterisation gets a notice.
If an article is wrong in a way that cannot be fixed by correction, it is retracted. A retracted article keeps its address and explains the retraction rather than returning a missing page.
Benchmark figures
Benchmark results are recorded with the source and date they were taken from. When a maintainer revises a published score, we record the new observation rather than overwriting the old one, so the change itself remains visible.
