Our aim

Aivio News aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Accessibility is treated as part of building the site, not as something added afterwards.

What we do

Every page uses real HTML landmarks — header, nav, main and footer — and a skip link that jumps straight to the main content. Headings follow a strict hierarchy: exactly one h1 per page, and no level is skipped on the way down.

The site works without JavaScript. Articles, navigation, breadcrumbs, related links, company pages and benchmark tables all render server-side; scripting only enhances the mobile menu, the language picker, search and privacy preferences.

Every image carries alt text written in the page’s own language, and decorative images are marked as decorative so screen readers skip them. Images and video declare their dimensions, so nothing shifts under the reader as the page loads.

Colour contrast meets the AA thresholds in both the light and dark themes, and the site follows your system theme automatically. All interactive elements are reachable by keyboard and show a visible focus outline. Animation respects prefers-reduced-motion.

The Arabic edition is laid out right-to-left throughout, using CSS logical properties, rather than simply right-aligning text in a left-to-right layout.

Text can be resized to 200% without loss of content or function, and the article body is limited to a comfortable measure for readability.

Known limitations

Advertising is served by third parties and its accessibility is not under our direct control. Where an external source we link to is inaccessible, we cannot fix that source, but we will describe its relevant content in the article where we can.

If you hit an accessibility barrier on this site, tell us through the contact page and describe the page and the problem. Reports are treated as a priority, and fixes follow the same process as any other correction.
